Description
The Alpha by Zeus Dog Muzzle helps to control biting, barking and chewing while still allowing your pet to drink, pant and accept treats. Made from thermo-plastic rubber the muzzle is tough, yet flexible, with large openings to allow for maximum airflow and ventilation to avoid overheating.
The basket-style design permits your pet to drink, pant and even accept treats comfortably. The muzzle is ideal for use in those situations where your dog may be stressed or nervous and additional security is needed (dog parks, vet or groomer visits, etc).
The muzzle can also be used on walks to help protect your pet from scavenging and eating harmful items; as a safety aid during training; or to help prevent wound licking after surgery.

CAUTIONS
- Ensure that the size of the muzzle does not restrict dog’s ability to pant and/or drink. A too-tight muzzle will interfere with dog’s ability to pant/stay cool.
- The length of the muzzle should be appropriate for the length of your dog’s snout. A muzzle that is too big may interfere with the dog’s line of sight. There should be about 1.27 cm (1/2 in) of space between the end of your dog’s snout and the front of the muzzle’s interior.
- The circumference of the muzzle cannot be the exact same size as the circumference of your dog’s snout or else the dog will not be able to open its mouth to pant. When measuring the circumference of your dog’s snout, add 5-7 cm (2-3 in) to the measurements.
- Do not leave dog unattended while wearing muzzle. Dog should not wear muzzle for more than 20-30 minutes at a time.
INSTRUCTIONS
- SNOUT LENGTH: Measure along the top of the dog’s snout, from the tip of the nose to approx 1.27 cm (½ “) below the eyes. Note : Muzzle length SHOULD NOT be longer than dog’s snout length; if it is, it can interfere with the dog’s line of sight.
- SNOUT CIRCUMFERENCE: Measure around the closed snout at its widest point, ie: approx 1.27 cm (½ “) below the eyes, and add between 5-7 cm (2 – 3“) to the circumference measurements. Note: Muzzle circumference MUST BE larger than dog’s snout. It CAN NOT be the exact same size or else the dog will not be able to open its mouth to pant.
ADJUSTING THE STRAPS
NECK STRAP: Measure the neck circumference (around the neck; behind the ears), and allow enough space to fit 2 fingers (approx. 5 cm/2 in) between the dog and the neck strap. Secure the buckle directly into the mesh webbing.
HEAD STRAP: Measure the distance from approx 2.5 cm (1 in) below the dog’s eyes to behind the ears (where the neck circumference meets). Secure the clip directly into the neck strap.
